The Days of Lockdown

By Rishabh Kapur In these few months I have realized that spending the whole day at home is not as good as we all had expected. During these days I found that there is a great difference in how we used to spend time with our parents earlier and the time we spend now and that has not only brought us closer but everyone was able to know more about each others' day to day lifestyle. For students it is a special turn as now we are moving from a traditional form of studies to new electronics based studies. So my friends I wish that all of us enjoy with our family and take care of yourself and others from this deadly pandemic. Your new friend Rishabh Kapur

Beauty of Contrast

Image
Made by Bhoomi Gupta Reference: https://youtu.be/4E35-8x_y04   During lockdown, I'm eager to feel the vibes of a place like this and surely, you all might be feeling the same. While we are ruminating about our summer holidays, I have a contrasting feeling. Do we really deserve this heaven? Do we have the right to transform this heaven into hell? Lockdown made me realise how brutally human interference has exploited our mother-nature. It's high time that we begin to conserve nature instead of interfering in natural activities or else, we may consider COVID-19 a mere forewarning of something worse. I hope you all contrast the natural world and what we’ve made of it and introspect, as it gives us an insight into our faults and mistakes. It may also give us some time to correct them. This is what the beauty of contrast is!

Life Finds a Way

Image
By Aaditya Shukla  This lockdown experience has been a roller coaster ride for me. Honestly, I had rejoiced when the school shut down, but soon this reverie was replaced with gloominess. With nothing to kill time with I was just lazing around the house. My mother couldn't tolerate this kind of behaviour and I think I overdid it too. The next thing I knew my mother emptied a mug of water on my face at 5 am, waking me up and tugging me to go outside and get some exercise. And there I was jogging along my colony's road at dawn! But I have to say that that really changed my mood – the fresh morning air with the scenic beauty of the rising Sun was just what I needed. Gradually, I took to gardening as well, and I have to say that the garden really bloomed under my care.  Be it the Lillies Or the Periwinkles Or the Roses While gardening has been a great experience, I also traced my memory back to the days when I used to paint. Recalling the painting skills I had ...

Life During Lockdown

Image
By Abeer Choubey When the lockdown was announced in India, it spelt doomsday for me. My biggest worry was, how I would survive without my househelp. I was so dependent on her that due to her absence for the next few weeks left me wondering how I would navigate through this uncharted territory. So, come lockdown and my blessing - my maid - made an exit. Keeping aside all the depressing thoughts that loomed over me, I decided I would make the most of the quarantine time. I kindled my positive spirit and realised that this period would serve as a great opportunity to finish my pending assignments. I thought I would get ample time to finish them off. To make the most of this period, I decided I would brush up a few skills too.   But I didn't know then that the only skill I would brush up during this quarantine would be mopping, cleaning, dusting and cooking skills! By the end of the first few days I was left with no energy, leave aside any state of mind to vent...
