How To Tell Wild Animals

Image
By Neel Jadia, Koshika Jhavar This is a humorous poem written by Carolyn Wells, in which the poet suggests some extraordinary ideas to identify animals and in my opinion if you try them in real life, perhaps it would be the last thing you'd learn.  Made by Neel Jadia According to the poet if an animal in the jungles in the east, comes closer to you and is large and has light brown skin, and then if he roars and you panic, you will know that this animal is the Asian Lion. Now if you meet an animal which is roaming around, has black strips on the yellow background of its skin and if it is eats you, you will get to know that it is the Bengal Tiger.  Made by Koshika Jhavar Now, if you meet an animal which has skin spotted with black dots and if it leaps at you it is definitely a leopard. This creature will not make any effort to roar but only leap at you, it will instead be you who would roar! Now if you see a creature who hugs you very hard, it is a bear ...

The Black Aeroplane

By Priyansh Jain The Black Aeroplane is a story written by Fredrick Forsyth. In this story the narrator dramatically describes an incident which befalls him when flying through a perilous storm.  The story begins with the narrator flying his old Dakota airplane from Paris in a clear and picturesque sky while dreaming of spending his holiday with his family in England. He calculated his journey and was hopeful of having a big English breakfast soon, but after a while he came across enormous storm clouds. He could have returned safely to Paris but he was eager to meet his family as soon as possible and took the risk to fly through the storm clouds.  The strong winds swayed his airplane, he lost visibility of his surroundings, his radio and compass went dead. Suddenly the narrator saw another airplane, black in color, beside him. The pilot of this plane asked the narrator to follow him. Eventually they were out of the skies and the narrator safely landed at an unknow...

How does one become a leader?

Long Walk to Freedom is such a fascinating autobiography! We read just an excerpt and it made us think about and discuss numerous pertinent issues. There is so much to learn about human nature and to discover about our own selves, through the lives and experiences of others - specially of such great souls like Nelson Mandela. During the class, Likhit Sethi raised a question which made us all reflect upon the nature of leadership and what makes a great leader different from a mere leader. Please add your answers, insights, or further questions to the discussion in the comments section. Here are glimpses of the discussion held on this tough question: How does one become a leader?  Likhit Sethi: Why was Nelson Mandela seen as a leader even though there were many others who were fighting? Aaditya Shukla: Likhit, even in India Mahatma Gandhi is considered a Leader when there were many who fought alongside him.   Likhit Sethi: Why Nelson, Why Gandhi??? Lik...
