How To Tell Wild Animals

By Neel Jadia, Koshika Jhavar
This is a humorous poem written by Carolyn Wells, in which the poet suggests some extraordinary ideas to identify animals and in my opinion if you try them in real life, perhaps it would be the last thing you'd learn.

According to the poet if an animal in the jungles in the east, comes closer to you and is large and has light brown skin, and then if he roars and you panic, you will know that this animal is the Asian Lion. Now if you meet an animal which is roaming around, has black strips on the yellow background of its skin and if it is eats you, you will get to know that it is the Bengal Tiger.

Now, if you meet an animal which has skin spotted with black dots and if it leaps at you it is definitely a leopard. This creature will not make any effort to roar but only leap at you, it will instead be you who would roar! Now if you see a creature who hugs you very hard, it is a bear but if you have any doubt even now, be sure it is a bear if it gives you a caress.
If someone is a novice, he might get confused between hyenas and crocodiles, so to distinguish the two, observe if it smiles merrily, if it does then it is a hyena but if it cries it is surely a crocodile.Chameleons are small just like lizards they have no ears and no wings and if you see nothing on a tree be sure it is the chameleon you see.
